KTM Neck brace ADV
Neck-protection system, made of GRP (glass-fibre reinforced plastic), partially coated with soft, impact-absorbing foam padding. Designed according to the latest scientifi c and technological know-how, the KTM Neck Brace ADV offers protection against: hyperflexion (extreme forward flexion and hyperextension of the head) and hyperextension (extreme backward movement of the head or the backward hyperextension of the head), lateral hyperflexion (extreme lateral movement of the head), axial impact (compression of the spine as a result of an impact to the helmet), posterior hypertranslation (forcing the head backward on the cervical spinal column). The underlying principle of the Neck Brace is to safely arrest the uncontrolled movement of the head/helmet in the event of a crash. This is achieved with the following features: impactabsorbing material on the outer surface and on the surfaces in contact with the body, flexibility due to the construction of the individual components; the Neck Brace is so constructed that under extreme conditions, it will absorb an impact and break at a predetermined breaking point.
